🍫 Candy shop closing in Ambler

Sweet Annie’s Candy Shoppe will soon shutter.
Owner Annie Maloney announced the store will cease operations next month after a roughly five-year run on East Butler Avenue in Ambler. The last day will be March 9. Maloney — whose family’s roots in the candy business stretch back over a century — cited a lack of foot traffic and parking issues as among the reasons for the decision.
"Ambler has a tremendous amount of potential and is a wonderful town, but is not without its challenges," she said in a social media post announcing the closure.
🚔 Montco DA offers $5K reward for shooting info

Prosecutors are incentivizing anyone with knowledge of a recent Norristown murder to come forward.
A driver was shot and killed behind the wheel of a running car on George Street last week. Nearby surveillance video footage shows the victim was parked outside his residence when a gunman ran across the street and fired multiple shots into the driver’s side window after lying in wait for the victim. The shooter then fled on foot.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has offered a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspect, who carried a blue backpack and has a distinctive gait.

1613 Kings Mill Rd in Gwynedd Valley, listed by Nicole Miller-Desantis: Set on a beautiful 1.4-acre lot in a quiet cul-de-sac, this 4BR, 2.5BA home with 3100+ square feet offers a rare chance to make a well-built home your own in one of Gwynedd Valley’s most desirable neighborhoods.
Built by respected builder Pat Sparango, this home is full of quality craftsmanship and a traditional layout that flows beautifully for entertaining and everyday living. The spacious kitchen boasts volume ceilings and exposed beams, leading to a screened-in seasonal porch (my favorite) where you can unwind and enjoy the peaceful, partially wooded backyard.
The family room features a wood-burning fireplace with a brick surround and a wet bar. The formal living and dining rooms showcase glistening, field-finished hardwood floors. A private home office provides the perfect setup for remote work or study, offering a quiet and dedicated space away from the main living areas. Upstairs, the oversized Owner’s Suite includes a dressing area and full bath, while three additional bedrooms share a hall bath with tub-shower.
The partially unfinished basement (1,200+ sq. ft.) has been a go-to space for recreation, gaming, storage and is ready for your vision. Located in the top-ranked Wissahickon School District and within walking distance to the Gwynedd Valley train station, this home offers a prime location, low taxes, and endless potential. This home also has quick access to major roadways, highways including Rtes. 309, 202, PA/NJ Turnpike and it is equidistant to two fabulous shopping centers that include Center Square Commons and Springhouse Shopping Center that are host to Whole Foods, Starbucks, multiple fitness options and boutiques too.
It's an opportunity that you won't want to miss. Schedule your showing TODAY!

🐶 Rescue of the Week

James Short | Wiss Now
Meet Helena, a three-year-old Shiba Inn being fostered in Chalfont through Home At Last Dog Rescue. She was rescued from a puppy mill in Lancaster. Helena is very sweet and playful. She can be skittish with new people, but warms up with time. She gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from a canine companion. Helena is crate- and house-trained, spayed and vaccinated. A quieter home with a fenced-in yard would be best for her.
If you are interested in adopting Helena or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
