🚨 Ambler woman dies after Worcester car crash

A 65-year-old Ambler resident was killed in a wreck on Saturday in Worcester Township.

State Police said Ilene C. Zeff, also known as Ilene Giannini, was fatally injured in a two-car accident on Valley Forge Road at Woodlyn Avenue. She was pronounced dead at Einstein Hospital. Cops said her SUV abruptly entered the northbound lane when she was driving southbound and was hit by a pickup truck before crashing into a fence.

The driver of the car that hit Zeff was David J. Starks, 37, of Lower Providence. He was uninjured.

🌲 Get a free tree in Whitpain

The Whitpain Township Shade Tree Commission will give away free trees in April.

The annual Arbor Day Native Tree Giveaway is set for Sunday, April 27 at Prophecy Creek Park. Residents can pick up trees free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis for reforestation purposes. Proof of residency is required. The commission distributed 450 native trees last year.

🪧 Lower Gwynedd to consider new historical markers

The Lower Gwynedd Township Historical Advisory Committee proposed text for its Historical Markers Program to the town's Board of Supervisors last night. A rundown of the planned markers can be found here. The program is designed to highlight and increase awareness of historic locations and places of pride, as well as to boost tourism and promote education and preservation.
