A Penn Medicine PennSTAR helicopter made an emergency landing on the front lawn of a home in Whitemarsh on Monday night — an incident Police Chief Christopher Ward called a “miracle” given no one was hurt and no property was damaged.

The chopper remains on the Musket Road property near Canon Hill Road. The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation and the aircraft will remain in place until it concludes.

The helicopter’s back rotor became detached after taking off in Philadelphia en route for Blue Bell, forcing it out of the sky. There were three crew members on board; the pilot was able to make a controlled emergency landing and put the aircraft down without hitting any cars, homes or people.

Meet Noodle, a four-year-old lax mix currently being fostered by Home At Last Dog Rescue.

Noodle was rescued as a stray in Georgia before making her way up north. She is a very calm and obedient companion. While Noodle may take a little time to warm up to new people and can be a bit shy, her overall demeanor is silly and joyful. She loves having the backs of her ears scratched and cuddling with you on the couch. Noodle is currently crate- and house-trained. She would do best in a quieter household with older children and a yard.
