๐Ÿฐ Lindenwold Castle Is On The Market

If you have a few million bucks lying around and have ever wanted to live in a castle, this is your moment.

Lindenwold Castle (Castle at Mattison Estate) in Ambler is on the auction block. Bids are being accepted through 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19; the reserve bid is $1.5 million and the 7,102 square-foot home has a listed appraisal value of $1.9 million.

The castle does have a bit of a problematic history. It was originally built as part of the estate owned by Richard Mattison, one half of the Keasbey and Mattison Company which infamously manufactured asbestos-related building products. Hence why Ambler was once known as the โ€œAsbestos Capital of the World.โ€

The castle last sold for $704,000 in 2012. The listing said it has had $3 million in renovations since.

๐Ÿš” A Cake, A Motel And An Alleged Stabbing

Google StreetView

A Blue Bell man, who is a paraplegic, is accused of stabbing a woman at a Whitpain motel after she brought him a birthday cake earlier this month.

Police were called to The Deck Motel around 10 p.m. on Nov. 18 for a stabbing call. They met with the woman and then found the man lying in bed. The man denied stabbing the woman and told police she stabbed herself and said she would blame him. The woman claimed she returned to the room with the cake and walked toward the nightstand when the man stabbed her while lying in bed. She detailed the knife and pledged to testify.

Cops eventually found the knife in the room during a search and charged the man with felony aggravated assault with an attempt to cause bodily injury with a deadly weapon, plus other counts. He was released on a bond signature and has a court hearing next week.
