🚨 A scary scene in Upper Dublin

Google Maps

Violent mayhem broke out in a Fort Washington daycare center’s parking lot with many parents and kids present.

Police responded to a domestic violence call last week at Lightbridge Academy on Virginia Drive. They arrived to find a man with stab wounds on his torso consistent with a pair of scissors exiting a vehicle. Witnesses said the man was stabbed in the parking lot by another man before a fight broke out. They also said the man who was stabbed attempted to run over the other man and that man’s girlfriend with his car.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. during the center’s drop-off hours. Both men have been charged with felony aggravated assault.

♳ Plastic bag ban talks in Lower Gwynedd

Lower Gwynedd is ready to consider whether it wants to make the plastic bag plunge.

The township’s Environmental Advisory Council will hold a open-house community forum on Wednesday (tonight) from 5-8 p.m. at the township building to discuss a potential ban on single-use plastics in town, as well as other alternative approaches.

Several municipalities in the region have already banned single-use plastics. Whitpain’s ban will begin in November; businesses have been told they must post signage about the pending changes by April 30.

🐶 Rescue of the Week

James Short | Wiss Now

Meet Thomas, a senior Shih Tzu/Maltese mix who has landed with Home At Last Dog Rescue after SEPTA workers rescued him along the Chestnut Hill West Line.

Thomas was barely able to walk on his hind legs when he was found and had thick matted hair. Veterinarians later determined he had multiple wounds and several fractured vertebrae, likely caused by a direct impact to his spine.

Thomas has made great progress in recent weeks, but still has a long way to go with at least six more weeks of crate rest followed by six weeks of physical therapy as he works toward a forever home.

If you are interested contributing to Thomas’ recovery or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
