🚨 Alleged car thief charged in Upper Dublin

A Philadelphia man is accused of breaking into a dozen cars in Upper Dublin. Cops say he took items from five of the vehicles — the latest example of a rise in car thefts across the region.

Sinsair Manny Cook, 20, was charged along with an unidentified co-conspirator. They are accused of stealing items worth a total of close to $1,700, including cash, wallets with bank and identification cards and a pair of Apple AirPods. Cook was identified after cops matched fingerprints to those lifted from a stolen car that was recovered in Philly.

The Whitpain Board of Supervisors has approved $2.6 million in contracts to improve Wissahickon Park in West Ambler starting this spring.

Bensalem’s MECO Constructors will receive $2.294 million for general construction work. Glenside’s Wise Electrical Contractors will be paid $310,000 for electrical work. The new park will feature playing courts, a grass volleyball court, a playground for children ages 2-5, a separate playground for older children ages 5-12, and a half-mile paved walking trail around the park perimeter. There will also be sidewalk installations to make the park accessible to the community and added parking.

👨‍🌾 The end of an era in Montco

Freddy Hill Farms and Freddy's Family Fun Center will close at the end of the 2025 season, ending a 53-year-run.

The Seipt family, which owns the Towamencin staple, announced their decision last week following “heartfelt consideration.”

“We are looking forward to retirement after decades of running rewarding and challenging businesses” they said in a statement. "It is a bittersweet reality that all good things must come to an end.”

All other requests for comment and information have been declined. Both businesses sit on a 94-acre plot; the property has been used as a farm for over a century, but is not protected farmland. The possibility of future development has been considered in past township planning.

🚔 Uber driver accused of sexual assault in Whitpain

Courtesy of Montgomery County DA

A West Chester man faces indecent assault and harassment charges after a Whitpain woman alleged he groped her while driving for Uber.

Robert Corcoran, 61, allegedly picked the victim and a male friend up in Lower Providence around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 10. The driver dropped the man off first, then asked the victim to move from the back seat to the passenger seat. The victim said she complied and was not concerned. But the driver then made her end a phone call with her sister before grabbing her breast, she alleges. The victim told cops Corcoran also made lewd comments and attempted to kiss her when he dropped her off at her home before forcing a hug.

🐶 Rescue of the Week

James Short | Wiss Now

Meet Henderson, a two-year-old hound mix currently being fostered through Home At Last Dog Rescue after being rescued in South Carolina. Henderson is great with kids, gets along well with other dogs and is very routine-oriented. He can take some time to warm up to new people. He is crate- and house-trained, but could use some work on the leash. He would fit best with an active family or home that enjoys the outdoors.

If you are interested in adopting Henderson or would like more information, you can reach out to Home At Last Dog Rescue at [email protected] or visit the group's website.
